Housekeeping

So I am terrible at housekeeping... ask my husband. I found this schedule online and I am going to try it out once the hubs and I move in to our new condo next weekend. It looks do-able and not too overwhelming. Plus, pictures and colors. I like colors.

NOTD: OPI Stay The Night

Here is my current mani, excuse the messiness of it. I don't clean up a mani until I take a shower and let the hot water do the work for me.

This color is from the Mariah Carey collection, its a textured polish that OPI calls "liquid sand".

Christian Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm

Dior Creme De Rose Balm
I always have dry and peeling lips no matter what time of year it is. I have tried so many balms from all different stores and brands. Drugstore cheap-os to high end ones, nothing has worked for me in the past. They either don't moisturize or they feel like they sit on top of the skin and feel uncomfortable and oily.
Ingredient List

I also tend to chew my lips and pick at them when stressed or nervous which I am sure just aggravates the situation even more.

I have heard good things about the Dior Creme De Rose balm and after getting over the hefty $27 price tag (for just a fucking balm with no color) I decided to pick one up... because I am tired of my gross peeling lips and I am at the point where I would do ANYTHING to fix them.

Packaging
So the first thing I noticed was the GORGEOUS scent of the balm. It smells like roses, straight up real roses which is my favorite scent so I was pleased before even putting it on my lips. Once applied the balm melts into the skin and feels rather thick like its shielding your lips. Which I like for a balm, it really feels like it is moisturizing and helping to repair my poor lips and contains SPF which is a nice bonus. I also feel like one application lasts quite a while, I won't have to constantly reapply.

The balm is colorless so it would be nice to wear under any lipstick or gloss, it won't mess with the color of whatever product you are using. Packaging is nice, its in a sturdy white plastic pot with a screw top. Plenty of space to get your fingers in there to get the balm.

Pale pink in the pot, goes on lips colorless.

The Deets: $27, .25 oz of product. Can be found at Sephora, high end department stores, and online.

My Life Right Now...

Got this off tumblr from here.  This has been my life for the past week you guys.

Periods in a Nutshell
  • Period:Your stomach hurts.
  • Period:No it doesn't, eat everything.
  • Period:Why did you eat all the things, your stomach hurts!
  • Period:No it doesn't, there's a plate of brownies. Eat them.
  • Period:Your uterus is pulsing. Change position twenty times to see if that helps.
  • Period:You want to fuck him.
  • Period:No you don't, kill him.
  • Period:You're bored. Let's literally cry about that, shall we?
  • Period:Never mind, just find people and kill them.

Philosophy Oxygen Peel

Philosophy Oxygen Peel Set, $56 at Nordstrom

So its Sunday and that means its my day to do something to my face. Once a week I like to pamper my skin to just feel refreshed and to help keep my boy-catcher (face) clear of spots and junk. For Christmas I used a gift card and bought myself Philosophy's Oxygen Peel set. I got it at Nordstrom and I believe it was $56 before tax but their website is selling it for $58 so I am not sure if the price was raised recently. Kind of expensive but I had the gift card so whatever.

 Oxygen Foam and Catalase Capsule

The set comes with these nifty catalase capsules that you break open and mix in warm water with the provided container, a pot of oxygen foam, and a plastic spatula. You shake the container up with the capsule powder and let it sit for 1 minute so that it creates this gel consistencey. You apply the gel all over your face and then top that with a generous smear of the oxygen foam. After a few seconds it all sort of bubbles up on your face like you put shaving cream all over yourself. Then you scrape it off in a shaving motion with the plastic spatula.

I have only used it once so far and I have to say that I really enjoy it. The gentle exfoliation from removing the product with the spatula really smoothes my skin and the products seem to brighten my complexion. The set comes with 10 applications so doing it once a week this will last me two and a half months which I think justifies the steep price, its about $5.60 a peel. I plan on repurchasing once I run out.

Uno Mas

So this is like my third... or sixth (who can keep track?) blog attempt. I always forget about them or I don't get the instant popularity I believe I should have (I mean, really...).

So I am at it again! Its a new year, as everyone keeps reminding me, and I think having a bit of earth, I mean Internet, ( kudos to you if you get that movie reference!) may help me ascertain some of my goals and wants for this year.

So in the legendary words of Peter Pan; "Here we go!!!"
